Radiology and Imaging at Lakeview 
Having the most precise imaging capabilities in the Northshore area allows Lakeview Regional Medical Center to provide patients faster and more reliable test results.  This advanced technology is operated by a tenured staff with an average experience level of 20 years.  Each member of the radiology team is dedicated to providing the best possible diagnosis and delivery of care.  Our board certified radiologists are known across the region for their commitment to problem-solving and patient communication/education.  Our voice transcription ability now allows typed test results to be available soon after the exam is completed.  Radiology is part of the team approach at Lakeview Regional Medical Center, and enhances the care of patients with a wide range of needs.

CARDIAC CT 
The area’s only GE 64–slice CT Scan allows the cardiology team at Lakeview Regional Medical Center to capture a full picture of your heart in three seconds.  This eliminates loss of detail that occurs during normal breathing and results in an unmatched level of information for your physician and you.  The Heart CT Angiogram has a 99.9% specificity.

CARDIAC MRI 
Lakeview also has the area’s only Cardiac MRI imaging ability.  Cardiac MRI allows our physicians to determine if the tissues in the heart have blood flow which can help physicians determine if bi-pass surgery will be successful.  Our Cardiac MRI images are jointly read by a board certified radiologist and board certified EP cardiologist.

DIGITAL CATHETERIZATION LABS 
The region’s most advanced catheterization lab allows cardiologists and vascular surgeons to use the most advanced tools available for the diagnosis and treatment of heart, pulmonary and vascular conditions.  Our Digital Cath Labs offer unparalleled precision and allow physicians to visualize small blood vessels with new levels of accuracy.

MAMMOGRAPHY
Digital mammography allows our board certified radiologists to view mammograms using detailed computer monitors in 3-D providing same-day results to our patients and their physicians.  Lakeview also offers breast Ultrasound, along with the most accurate, detailed breast MRI available.  The breast MRI technology manufactured by In-Vivo technology is specially designed for breast imaging and allows tissues to be viewed in unmatched detail and in color on a dedicated breast MRI workstation.

BREAST CANCER TREATMENT
Lakeview’s advanced breast MRI allows us to not only find cancer quickly, but offer alternative treatments.  A special MRI-guided biopsy allows some cancers to be removed with a suction needle and avoid a mastectomy.

DIGITAL X-RAY
More precise images are possible with Lakeview’s digital X-ray system.  Images can be taken in a fraction of a second resulting in decreased exam times, less radiation and the best quality.  Our PACS system allows those images to be sent electronically to a board certified radiologist who provides same-day interpretation.
