Women's & Children's Center

The Women's and Children's Center is committed to providing compassionate care for the physical and emotional well-being of expectant mothers, infants, children and pre- and post-menopausal women. We combine the care and experience of our dedicated staff with our state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to provide you and your children with the best care possible.

LABOR AND DELIVERY
Private suites are available for labor, delivery and recovery and have been designed to provide a comfortable atmosphere with the latest in fetal monitoring and surveillance. The health and safety of each infant is guarded by our experienced staff, the most advanced techniques for monitoring and cardiac/respiratory intervention and by a state-of-the-art infant security system. NURSERY AND NICU
Our well-baby nursery and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provide highly experience staff for all infants. The Nursery and NICU teams include NICU nurse practitioners, internationally board-certified lactation consultants and a tenured staff trained in advanced neonatal life support.

PEDIATRIC SERVICES
A child-friendly environment is provided with private rooms, nutritionally specific menus and available DVD/Playstation entertainment. The pediatric team is experienced in life-saving interventions as well as education and support.

EDUCATIONAL OFFERINGS
Classes are available for wellness at all stages of life and include breastfeeding, infant/child CPR, lamaze, newborn care and sibling classes. For a tour of Labor & Delivery call (985) 867-4362. For prenatal classes call 866-452-5384.

DIGITAL MAMMOGRAPHY
Lakeview uses state-of-the-art technology with digital mammography in conjunction with computer aided detection (CAD). This technology allows our board-certified radiologist to detect breast cancers in earlier stages. Additionally, our registered mammography staff uses gel-pads which aid in the comfort of the exam. Convenient appointment times including later-day and walk-ins are available. Our breast program provides accurate and same-day results interpreted by a board-certified radiologist.

BREAST MRI/ULTRASOUND
All images are interpreted by a board-certified radiologist with same-day results. Our advanced breast MRI technology allows Lakeview to identify cancer cells in earlier stages which are the hardest to detect. As part of our breast program, some breast cancers can be removed using our MRI-guided breast biopsy technology, thus potentially avoiding the need for a mastectomy.

OSTEOPOROSIS-RELATED SERVICES
Education and support are available with an emphasis on prevention and detection. Our DEXA bone density testing is the most advanced technology which includes testing of both hips and lower back. Convenient appointment times are available, including late-day and walk-in options. Same day results are provided by board-certified radiologists.
